Garwood Champaign, IL Waterbury Clock Co. *SEE PHOTOS* Click images to enlarge Description This antique wedding clock was acquired at an estate auction in Western Illinois. It is appealing, desirable & collectible. This is indeed a rarity. The clock face was produced by L. C. Garwood of Champaign, Illinois. The face celebrates the wedding of Stone to Steele in Branson Holler on Jan. 22, 1896. The top of the face adds a little humor stating that "Stone is a Fool". The names "Stone" & "Steele" are written in two hearts and the words "Two hearts as one" is right below. This Waterbury Clock has two patent dates. SEP 11, 1877 & JAN 15. 1878. This very old alarm clock runs and all the functions work. There is nothing to stop the alarm when it goes off. You must let it run out. The glass is loose on the front of the clock. The clock has a lean to the left due to the repair on one of the legs. There are cracks in the metal case. These issues do not detract from the appeal & desirability of this 146 year old clock. We present this piece exactly as it was when acquired. No attempts to clean this item have been made by us. This old clock shows wear as seen in the photos. This will make a fine addition to any home or collection. The photos are an important part of the description.
