Description: For sale is a fun cup & saucer made by Nymphenburg in the 18th century . Both pieces are hand painted with a very nice fruit scene as well as a few bugs scattered about and a gold trim to the edge and the handle. The scenes are quite nice and I love the bugs! The saucer is marked with the impressed shield mark as well as an impressed letter I or L or number 1 - hard to say. The cup has an incised circle as well as an impressed letter S and P as shown. Both pieces are in great condition with a little wear to the gilding and the tiniest chip to the edge of the cup rim right by the handle. The stains in the pictures looked to be part of the porcelain but when I wrote the description I looked at them again and decided to try to clean them and they all come off! The cup is 1.75 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter.
