After many years of dumping trash directly into the ocean, the beaches were chock full of trash and setting it on fire was deemed the best solution to getting rid of the trash. The heat from the fires caused the glass to melt and crackle. The pieces are shown with a dime for sizing and this is exactly the glass you will receive. I personally collected this glass and it has not been altered in any way.
