Description: This 1966 British import stereo LP box set from London Records (OSA-1159) features Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 "Choral". It is performed by featured soloists Joan Sutherland, Marilyn Horne, James King, and Martti Talvela with the Vienna State Opera Chorus and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt. Album notes are in English, and are part of a large (album-sized) 4-page booklet also containing the libretto in both German and English. Also included is a 3-page foldout catalog of other titles in the London ffrr series. The outer box is in excellent condition, and both front and back covers have no corner splits or other damage; however, the wraparound binding (with the stamped spine titles) is flaking away at the back edge. It is still in one piece, and hinges normally, but appears to be quite fragile with age. The box also shows a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back (Photo 2). The disc itself has smudges on both sides, but no scratches or damage that would affect playback. This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of classical LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear.
