Description: Offered is the vintage book "Ceded Lands: Records of St. Paul Parish and Early Wilkes County, Georgia", compiled and published by Alden Associates of Albany, Georgia. The book has a 1964 copyright and appears to be a first edition. The book consists mainly of lists of names of early settlers of Wilkes County, Georgia (one of Georgia's original counties-originally much bigger than today, as many new counties have been created from it), compiled from marriage lists, tax records, etc. There are two maps. This is a rare find; at the time of original listing I could not find any others for sale on eBay and only one elsewhere. The book is approx. 9 1/8" x 6 1/8" and contains 160 pages. It is in excellent, almost like-new condition-I believe this is "new old stock" that has been stored. The tan hard cover has no wear, the brown words on the front still distinct. There is no cracking inside either the front or the back cover. The white endpapers are clean. I see no missing or torn pages and all are well-attached to the binding. The pages have yellowed slightly but are otherwise clean, although there is some light spottiness along the edges, seen when the book is closed. I see no writing in the book. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions.
