It sounds fantastic! The wood has matured and is light and airy. The Pioneer model has less lugs and no internal dampers unlike the other Ludwig wood snares, giving the Pioneer the edge in true wooden tone. Great condition overall, minor scuffs if any. With minimum effort, by replacing the chrome with originally installed nickel plated lugs and rims, this can be transformed into a collector's item. Great snare for any collection.
