Description: Up for sale is a previously owned Martha Carey's The Herd elephant sculpture that I got as part of a huge collection, that I was able to rescue from a shotty, second rate estate sale. Unfortunately, by the time I was able to purchase the collection, the delicate figures had already been jostled around and excessively handled. In fact, this particular sculpture was one of the two most affected/damaged ones in the lot (in part because of it's size & the fact that it does not display traditionally, it's more of shelf sitter). "Wild" #3101 (6 1/4" tall x 5 3/4" long) has many flakes and/or chips to it's paint (photos #13 - #20). An unusual thing about this elephant is that every other one in the collection has a sticker bearing their name, to their underside and this one's sticker is a different style and does not have it's name on it (photo #9). While it does have it's share of flaws, this is still a terrific & somewhat rare piece. Lot includes the elephant's story stone & collectible booklet (photos #10 - #12).
