Description: Mama Johnson Outsider Art Sculpture, Native American Figure. Body is Composed of Bright Blue “Purex Detergent Bottle” Covered with Circular Black Felt Marker “Scribbles”. Original Labels (front and back) on Bottle are Intact with Lettering in Bright Green, Orange, Yellow and White. Head is Made of Household Flesh Colored Sponge. Markings on Face: Black Eyes, Black Nose Dots, Light Orange Blush Cheeks and Cherry Red Mouth. The Hair is Black. Red, Purple and Yellow Shoe Laces Adorn the Head as a Headband with Dangling Ends Tied and Knotted in Back. The Sponge Head is securely Connected to the Plastic Bottle Body with Silver Duct Tape. The Tape is Signed Mama Johnson in Black Marker. The letters MAMA are very clear on Taped Back Side. The Condition is Excellent. Be Aware that at the top of blackened sponge head it appears that the black markered sponge has faded (see photos) as though it was slightly bleached by sunlight while on display in Mama’s home.
