Description: This is a early 1983 TYPE 1 Original Photo of Madonna. In this outstanding portrait, Madonna is seen peeking her head over a roof top ladder above the photographers studio. The photographer was Kate Simon and she was currently working for "The Face Magazine". She had done very personal shoots with all of the large artists. She was assigned to capture Madonna in her Debut Professional Photoshoot as a artist which took place at Simon's Manhattan apartment. Simon spoke in a interview saying she started the shoot in her apartment and Madonna was very shy and hardly spoke. So Simon wanted to switch up the vibe and get her in better light and suggested they go to the roof. In a interview with Kid Magazine in 2009 Simon had this to say. This is really cool, this is amazing. There were no prescribed poses and I realized how natural and spontaneous Madonna wasshe was just herself. And you know, something weird happenedevery single image on the contact sheet was amazing. Images from this photoshoot were used that year in "The Face Magazine" along with being reused years later in "Kid Magazine" and "New York Magazine".
