Description: USA Barber half dollar 1896-S. Had a relatively low mintage of 1,140,948 pieces. The coin was minted in San Francisco mint from 1892-1915 denoted by the “S” mint mark. Very collectible because of age, mintage, survival rate, and mint location. It is 0.900 silver. The designer was Charles E. Barber. On the obverse side there is a representation of Liberty which symbolizes freedom and enlightenment with a motto, “In God We Trust”. It is circled by 13 stars representing the original colonies. On the Reverse side, an eagle with its wings spread wide and above it 13 stars, with the motto, “E Pluribus Unum”. Half dollar United States of America
