Description: Super rare. Stamped inside: Property of Shell Oil Company. The patent stamped into the brass latch dates this case to 1949. This case came from a wealthy oil man here in the heart of the California oil industry - Bakersfield, CA. The case is an expandable, locking style, however the key is missing. The internal label indicates it was made from Mutual top grain cowhide. Condition: the locking latch mechanism works great. The handle is extremely solid and strong. The accordion function works properly. Unfortunately the case has some cosmetic issues including: three holes on the bottom (the largest being golf ball sized), and scuffs, marks, wear, and signs of use throughout. The camera had a hard time picking up all the scuff marks on the exterior, so if you need me to try sending more pics, please inquire. Size: 18" x 13 x 6.
