As a vintage item, it shows wear, age, and imperfections, and it is offered AS IS. (See photos.) My parents reversed the lid when the wood on one of the hinged corners broke, thus the original screw holes can be seen on the front of the lid. This item has been hand cleaned with Murphy Wood Cleaner, water, and a textured sponge. The buyer may want to restore and paint it except for the panel that says Lucas Valley Dairy. The dairy began operation in l925 and during World War II, supplied milk and other dairy products to Hamilton Field by purchasing secondhand trucks and refitting them to carry milk. The dairy was sold in 1962 to California Cooperative Creamery.
